Why cults are successful at deception

It is simple really. CHRISTIANS ARE NOT READING THE BIBLE! As I have said before you must have a extensive knowledge of the truth and then you can handle attacks against it. The sad state of Churchianity today is that people only get their helping of God’s Word during sunday services( and if it is a paraphrase bible like the Message, then they are getting a bunch of hot air) and then don’t do any personal reading outside the church. So when a JW comes to their door with questions and they start their “Jumping Through the Scriptures” game, if you don’t have a grasp on God’s Word, you could be deceived. JW’s are well trained salesman who fine tune their skills at a weekly service meeting to be ready to answer objections and to know what exactly to say. They are prepared and so should you!

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
[2 Timothy 2;15]

Hebrews 5
11 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.
12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Get off of milk and get on the strong meat. That means reading the Old Testament MORE THAN ONCE! JW’s love to quote obscure verses out of context from the OT.

Why do you think the “Pre-trib rapture” is so popular? Because people take denominational doctrine and don’t do any research. I have read the account of a man who when he actually started looking at the pre-trib rapture from a scriptural viewpoint, he couldn’t back it up. He had some initial doubts, but never spent the time to study. So study! Truthseekers.com is his site. As usual, I do not endorse 100% of the content on his site.

One Response to “Why cults are successful at deception”

  1. On this perspective I support you 100% that most christians don’t read the bible so often. It is only recently I started opening the bible and have learned many new concepts which my padres and parents did not teach me.

I believe that Doug has become successiful because of that reason. So we who don’t read the bible should not be very quick to oppose people spend lots of their time reading it. The best thing is to imitate them.
