We weren’t entirely sure what to expect when we arrived at house where the church met. We knew the services were held mainly in Mandarin Chinese and that M Wang would translate for us. (more…)

Meeting the Wangs

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

We finally were able to meet with the Wangs, the Christian family we’ve been in contact with lately. Their house brought me memories of some of my childhood friends; as soon as the door was opened we were perfumed in Asian spices. They fed us rice, beef, corn and cantaloupe.

It was so nice to fellowship with their family. The wife, M, played with Abigail while Brandon and I spoke with her husband E and their two sons. E has a great zeal for the church, the Lord and His Word. We stayed almost four hours and discussed the state of the church, evangelism opportunities, and persecution in China.

We left looking forward to seeing them for church in the morning.
